Encyclopedia Britannica: antelope any of numerous Old World grazing or browsing mammals belonging to the family Bovidae order Artiodactyla, which also includes sheep, goats, and cattle. The pronghorn of North America, though a member of the family Antilocapridae, is also sometimes referred to as an antelope. The term has no precise meaning.

(Antilocapra americana), North American hoofed mammal, the sole living member of the family Antilocapridae (order Artiodactyla), also known as prongbuck and as pronghorned, or American, antelope. It stands about 80-100 centimetres (2 1/2-3 1/4 feet) at the shoulder. It is reddish brown with a short, dark-brown mane, white underparts, two white bands on the throat, and a large circular white patch on the rump. The hairs of the rump can be erected to produce a flash of white, apparently a warning signal, that can be seen by man for 3-4 kilometres (2-2 1/2 miles). Both sexes bear erect horns that branch into two prongs, the longer curving backward and the shorter projecting forward.
The pronghorn, valued as a game animal, inhabits open plains and semideserts, living alone or in small bands in summer and forming large herds in winter. The male gathers a harem in late summer, and the female bears one or two young after about eight months' gestation. A swift, nimble animal, the pronghorn can attain a speed of 70 km per hour and leaps 6 metres (20 feet) at a bound. It was once found from Alberta to northern Mexico but is now reduced in both numbers and range; some subspecies are endangered. It has, however, responded well to conservation practices, and controlled hunting occurs through most of its range.

Royal Antelope: species Neotragus pygmaeus, tiny antelope, family Bovidae order Artiodactyla, found alone or in pairs in dense West African Wood-11s. It is the smallest of antelopes and stands only 25
cm 10 inches high at the shoulder. It is reddish brown with white underparts; the male is distinguished by short, spikelike horns. Despite its size, the royal antelope is reputedly able to jump about 2.8 m (9 feet) at a bound. A slightly larger relative, Bates's pygmy antelope (Neotragus batesi) inhabits dense central African forests.
Sable Antelope: Hippotragus niger, handsome antelope, family Bovidae order Artiodactyla, that lives in herds in Wood-11s of southern Africa. Like the related roan antelope H.equinus, the sable antelope is a graceful animal with an erect mane, long ears, long hair on the throat, and long, parallel, sickle-shaped horns. It stands up to 137 centimetres (54 inches) at the shoulder. The male is shining black with a black and white face and white underparts; the female is similar, but reddish brown to black in colour.
Roan antelope: Hippotragus equinus, African antelope, family Bovidae order Artiodactyla, found in small groups on plains and scrublands. Related to the sable antelope Hippotragus niger and to the extinct blaauwbok, or bluebuck H. leucophoeus, the roan antelope is a large, graceful animal standing 130-150 cm at the shoulder.
Bovid: any hoofed mammal in the family Bovidae of the order Artiodactyla. The family includes the buffalo, and cattle, sheep, and goats. Bovids are cud-chewing, grazing, or browsing animals found most often in grasslands, scrublands, or deserts, though some species occupy habitats such
Hartebeest: genus Alcelaphus, either of two swift, slender antelopes, family Bovidae order Artiodactyla, found in herds on open plains and scrublands of sub-Saharan Africa. They often mingle with herds of zebras or of other antelope. Hartebeests stand about 1.2 m 4 feet at the shoulder.

The best hunters are planners. Do it scientifically and don't rely on your memory or instinct unless when you can have real data.
Scout your hunting area off season. Make a map showing deer sightings and signs ..
Record your sightings and signs separately, if possible on a topographical map. Look for patterns of movement. Try to track migration by time. This will help you know where to set up our stand during hunting season.
Put Lanocaine or Solarcaine in your hunting kit. They are marvelous for poison ivy and mosquito bite itches. Since odors are acid, use baking soda to neutralize your own and other odors.
