Ingredients 4 Hake/scrod steaks or fillets 1 Chopped Onion 1 Chopped Green l pepper 1 Chopped Celery rib 2 tbsp. Vegetable oil 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder 2 cups Chicken Stock 1 28 oz. can Plum tomatoes 1/4 tsp. Hot sauce Salt and pepper to taste
Directions In a large pot, saute onion, bell pepper & celery in oil over moderate heat, stirring, till golden & softened Add garlic powder, chicken stock, tomato w/juices & hot sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Then add Hake & simmer covered for 6 minutes more. Remove trout, continue simmering until sauce thickens; adjust seasonings and spoon sauce over Hake. Serve with rice.
