Appearance
The Moray eel is a long snake like animal. It looks like a prehistoric monster. It can be 100 pounds. It can be 6 inches to 10 feet. It has a big mouth and sharp teeth. The Moray eels are very muscular.There are many kinds of Morays. One of them, the leaf nose moray has three bumps near its mouth. They are called barbels. They are used for smelling and touching.

Nest
The Moray eel lives in caves and coral reefs. The California moray lives in rocky coasts by California. The Giant moray lives in shallow coastal waters by Asia and Australia.

Food
The Moray eel eats octopi, small fish, shrimps, crabs and barnacles. The Moray eels eat by biting big chunks out of its prey, like the barracuda. It eats at night time or whenever its prey gets too close to its home.

Predators
Humans are the Moray eels predators. In some countries, people eat them , but there is one problem,some kinds are poisons to eat

Defenses
It protects itself by hiding in small holes in the reefs and swimming out with its fast speed.

Relatives
The Moray eel's relatives are: the American eel, the conger eel, the worm eel, the gulper eel, the ribbon eel, the garden eel, the snipe eel and the wolf eel.
