The Tiger Shark is more commonly found in the warmer tropical waters of northern Australia venturing south to more temperate areas during summer months. They inhabit all Australian waters with concentrations distributed from Perth, W.A. around the north to southern N.S.W. Tiger Shark range from the close inshore waters to well past the continental shelf into open ocean, from the surface to a depth of about 150m. They are known to frequent estuaries particularly in northern regions.
